What is Reiki?

word meaning "Universal Life Energy". Reiki is a method of activating and balancing the life force energy (also
known as ki, prana, and chi) present in all living things. Light hand placement techniques are used on the body to channel
this energy to organs and glands and align the energy centers in our body. This system was developed by Mikao Usui in the

Who Can

Anyone one can learn reiki, the ability to learn Reiki is not dependent on intellectual capacity.
It does not take years of practice. It is simply passed on from the teacher to the student through a process called an attunement.
What is an Attunement?
Reiki is not taught in the way other healing techniques are taught. The Reiki
Master/Teacher during an attunement process transfers the ability to the student.
The Reiki Master does not direct the
process and is simply a channel for the attunement energy flowing from the Higher Power. Once you have received a Reiki attunement
you will have Reiki for the remainder of your life. It does not wear off and you never lose it.
How many levels or degrees of Reiki are there?
Traditionally, training in the Reiki methods are divided into
three levels. The third level is divided into two parts. You progress from one degree to the next according to your own rate
of personal experience and inner growth.
